WBCS 2023 Selection Process

WBCS 2023 Selection Process: WBPSC mainly conducts the WBCS exam for the recruitment of officers for different posts. The entire WBCS Selection Process consists mainly of three stages that are:

Prelims,

Mains &

Interviews.

Candidates have to be clear in each stage so that they reach the final selection stage. The Prelims stage will be of qualifying in nature which means that the Prelims marks will not be added to the final merit list. The Prelims consist of only one GS paper.

WBCS 2023 Mains exam consists of 6 compulsory papers and One Optional subject Paper which consists of two papers of 200 marks each. The above list of Optional subjects is provided by WBPCS on its official website. Candidates can choose any optional subject from the list according to their preferences and interest.

The WBCS Mains exam marks will be added along with the WBCS 2023 Personality Test marks to decide the merit list. On the basis of this merit list, the list of the passed candidates will be recommended for appointment and further results.
