CUET, the Common University Entrance Test is conducted at the national level and has given students a common ground with universities to access the knowledge of the students. it provides equal opportunities to all students be it from the CBSE board, ICSE board or any other central or state board. CUET UG will be conducted in 300+ cities in 13 medium languages like English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Odia, Marathi, Punjabi, Gujarati, Malayalam, Telugu Tamil, Urdu, and Kannada. The CUET is conducted once a year for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The examination will be done online in a computer-based mode. More than 250 institutes and universities give admission by CUET examination.



CUET UG Eligibility 2024


Candidates wishing to appear for the CUET 2024 exam must fulfil the eligibility criteria set by the National Testing Agency. The eligibility requirement to appear for the exam involves nationality, age limit, and educational qualifications. Interested students can check the eligibility criteria for the exam below:


  • Aspiring candidates must have passed 10+2/equivalent examination or appearing in 2024.

  • As per the official notification, "Candidates who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class 12 Examination."

  • There is no age limit to appear for the CUET exam.

  • The number of attempts a candidate may take is unrestricted. Candidates may appear for the exam as many times as desired as long as they meet all other qualifying conditions.

Structure of Examination

61 (33 languages, 27 domain-specific, and 01 General Test)

Choice    of    Test Paper

Maximum 06 Test papers (04 or 05 domain subjects including General Test and 01 or 02 languages).


Candidates  may  choose  a maximum  06  Subjects  including languages (Indian and Foreign) and General Test


Note:  It  is  advisable  for  candidates  to  select  at  least  one language.

Medium   of   the Test

13  languages  (Assamese,  Bengali,  English,  Gujarati,  Hindi, Kannada,  Malayalam,  Marathi,  Punjabi,  Odia,  Tamil,  Telugu, and Urdu)

Hybrid mode (Pen & Paper + CBT)


Note: It will depend on the candidate count after the registration is complete.

Total Questions

40 out of 50 questions for all test papers and 50 out of 60 for the General  Test  (choice  of  10  questions).  Duration  for  all  test papers would be 45 minutes except for Mathematics/Applied Mathematics,           Accountancy,      Physics,      Chemistry, Economics,  Computer  Science/Informatics  Practices,  and General Tests which would be 60 minutes.

Maximum Number of Tests

An aspirant can take a maximum of 9 tests. These 9 tests can be taken in the following manner:

  • 1 Languages, 4 Domain Specific Subjects, 1 General Test

  • 2 Languages, 3 Domain-Specific Subjects, 1 General Test

Slots

  • The CUET exam is conducted in two slots (Morning Session & Afternoon Session).

Marking Scheme

  • Each question carries 5 marks.

  • As per the CUET Marking Scheme, for incorrect answers 1 mark will be deducted. 

  • For unanswered questions, candidates will be awarded 0 marks for them.

Section

Details

Section 1 (Language) (Section IA and Section IB)

In this section questions will include Reading Comprehension which will be based on different types of passages like Literary, Narrative, and Factual. There will also be Vocabulary questions. Other topics include: Verbal Ability, Rearranging the parts, Choosing the correct word, Synonyms and Antonyms

Section II (Domain-Specific Subject)

This section will include MCQs based on the Class 12th syllabus

Section III (General Test)

Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning, Logical and Analytical Reasoning, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability
