ABOUT THE COURSE
The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) conducts the Chartered Accountancy Common Proficiency Test (CA CPT) 2024 twice a year. The June sessions of CA CPT 2024 will be conducted on June 16. Students aspiring for a career in chartered accountancy must register and apply for ICAI CA CPT 2024. The CA CPT application form 2024 will be available from April 2024. The extended date will allow submissions till 2024, with a late fee of Rs. 600. ICAI will release two application correction windows for candidates to rectify their mistakes, if any, on the application form of CA CPT 2024. The CA CPT admit card 2024 will be released in the last week of May. After the exam is conducted, candidates will be able to view their CA CPT result 2024 in the first week of July tentatively.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

A candidate shall be eligible to appear in Common Proficiency Test scheduled to be held in 16th June 2024, if he/she has:

Either passed or appeared in the Senior Secondary Exam (10+2 examination) conducted by an examining body constituted by law in India or an exam recognized by the Central Govt. as equivalent thereto and has complied with such requirements as may be specified by the Council from time to time.

List of examinations recognized as equivalent to Senior Secondary Examination); and
-
Revalidated his/her registration to Common Proficiency Course (as applicable)

As decided by the Council, the registration to the Common Proficiency Course is valid for a period of 3 years and the student is required to revalidate the same from the concerned Regional Office on expiry of the said period.
EXAM PATTERN
-
The Common Proficiency Test (CPT) in Paper-Pencil Mode (PP Mode) will be held on 16th June 2024 in accordance with the existing scheme of education, training, and exam of the Chartered Accountancy Course.

It is a 4-hour duration test comprising two sessions of 2 hours each with a break between two sessions. Test will comprise objective-type questions with negative markings for choosing wrong answers.

In order to pass the CPT (Examination), a candidate is required to secure, in one sitting, a minimum of 30 percent marks in each Section and a minimum of 50 percent marks in the aggregate of all Sections, subject to the principle of negative marking, being 1/4 Mark (one fourth) for each wrong answer, as per Regulation 36A of CA Regulations, 1988.

Common Proficiency Test will be one paper of 200 marks.
